We had a great but quick weekend up to Door County. It is cherry season, so we bought enough cherry merchandise to last us until next summer. We stayed on the Lake MI side of the peninsula, and boy was it nice and peaceful. Across the bay was a state park, so it was just trees and shoreline. Sierra wanted to just stay and swim in the pool the whole weekend, which we did quite a bit. We also love going to all the little shops in the towns, trying new places and visiting the old standbys--the confectionary, touch of the world (handmade bracelets and instruments), and Tannenbaum (Christmas store). On the way home we stopped in Green Bay at Bay Beach where they have an amusement park with rides for $.25-$1.50. Sierra loved it and had a hard time parting :). I love weekend getaways. It helps break up the mundane of day to day life.
Doesn't the little helicopter ride look like the Jetsons' car? :)

Absolutely beautiful. It looks so peaceful. I am so grateful that you guys had such a nice weekend. I sure missed you. I could have used a sympathetic ear :) Yikes, thank God that is over!
Ahhhhhhh, sounds like a relaxing weekend. Glad to see you guys got away from the hubbub for some quiet family time. Where do you guys stay in door county?

How did the shower go? We'll have to work out another weekend, maybe late summer or fall.

We stay wherever. This time we just went through a door county book and kept calling to find one available. We know what most of them look like from going up there so much. Nordic Lodge is a newer hotel in Sister Bay and tends to be the cheapest, with a pool, grill & fridge.
The shower went well. It looked really cute. It was crowded which was good for Michelle, but bad for the air conditioner. It froze up and wouldn't work. Boy it got hot in there. Also, she wasn't very appreciative. She never once thanked me. Ugh, that drives me nuts!!!!! I am trying to get over it :)
