Can I say awesome?! My parents gave Steve Packers tickets for his birthday. We went this last Sunday, and of any time of year to go this was it. It was in the 70's. We had seats in a personal box. My mom didn't know whose box it was b/c she was given the seats by a supplier from work. I was a little freaked out that we didn't know who we would be by the whole game in a little room, but the thought of awesome tickets soon abated my fears. We got right up to the field 2hrs. Before game time and were able to find parking on the street for free-unheard of! We then made our way to the field-incredible! It is all closed in the hall just to get in. We made it up to the 5th floor which looked like offices. We entered into our box# and no one was there. There was quite the spread of brats, hamburgers, drinks, chicken wings, etc. There were 12 seats overlooking the field with 2 TV's on the top corners for viewing replays. I had to laugh. What would it be like to own one of these-expensive! We left and waited til someone came and then realized the box was owned by Russ Darrow. He owns 22 car dealerships in the are. He was there with his wife, friends, kids, grandkids, and some employees. It kind of felt like we were intruding on a family reunion:) There were 20-25 people in the box. Thankfully they were very friendly and always asking if we needed anything. We of course were in our Packer regalia while they were in their designer clothes-awkward! Oh well! To the game- so roller coasterish, but kept us on the edge of our seats the whole game. I couldn't believe how well you could see the whole field clearly from so high up. I loved getting a glimpse of Reggie Bush too. He seemed unstoppable. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience. Steve was so thrilled to go!

I'm SO VERY JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! Was that your first time at lambeau? We took my grandparents one time and took a tour and saw the hall of fame. We saw a plush box like the one you guys sat it - WOWEE ZOWEE! I think I remember them telling us on the tour it's like 20,000 per year to have one of those boxes.

Is Russ Darrow a Christian? And didn't he run for some political position at one time?

Mol - They offered us to enjoy the food with them and everything, but we just felt like freeloaders, so we just had some sodas.
Al-This is our 2nd time to a game. Last time we went was the first game (Monday night) after Sept. 11 happened. Yeah Darrow did run for a Senate spot against Feingold but lost the primary to Tim Michels. I have to laugh. Steve felt nervous, so when Russ first introduced himself, Steve said, " I voted for you" It actually broke the ice quite well, but it could have looked like a major brown noser - hilarious!
Christina-We loved being able to move around and check out the special area for club seat holders and box seaters. They had specialty made to order pasta bar & a huge screen with highlights and the game on it for when you want to go in the lobby. They even had a past Packer signing autographs in there. Another funny thing is the walls are glass by the seats overlooking the field, so you can look in everybody elses box down the row. The Darrows were waving to friends in other boxes. Too funny! There friends that were with them there were big time investors for some big skyrises downtown. I can't imagine to run in those circles - probably a good thing :)

jen-
glad you had so much fun but yah i would have felt the same way about feeling a bit out of place! and i agree with you - i don't think i will ever want to move out of this place seeing as ANYWHERE else will be quite a bit smaller than what we have now.

That sounds like soo much fun! What fun! I would feel a little odd in those circles, but I'm sure you just ate it up, because it's like a once in a lifetime thing. So glad you enjoyed yourself!
